We’re afraid that this thread from the mangosteen juice users group doesn’t answer Sonia’s question definitively but it does provide some options for her to think about.
Our feeling is that because of her mother’s age and the fact that she has only been taking mangosteen juice for a short time, there’s little that can presently be said as there are too many variables to consider. However, the replies are quite interesting.
Question
I would like to know what could be the explanation on my mother’s non-response to the good effect of mangosteen juice. She is 73 years old, she has osteoporosis, arthritis and she [wakes] at 4:00 a.m. usually.
After finishing 1 bottle of mangosteen juice, she can sleep already throughout the night until 7:00 a.m. but after getting that benefit for 4 days, she is back to her old habit of [waking] at 4:00 a.m. (She started with 1 oz. 3 x a day [the maintenance order for mangosteen juice] ). When this happened, I increased her dosage to 2 oz. 3 x a day but still no effect.
Now, she is back to 1 oz. 3 x a day, because she is also worried about the cost. I wonder if someone can give me an explanation of why this is happening? Thanks in advance!

Just wondering if your mother took the mangosteen juice at the same time each day. Not too late at night, because it can cause some people to stay awake when they’re not really used to it.
Kind regards,

Hi Diane! Thanks for your reply.
To answer your question, yes, I let her take it at the same time each day. The 3rd one is around 7 p.m. during dinner time. I also tried to let her take at 5 p.m. for 1 week and still the response is still the same.
Thanks,

My mom will be 97 years old in September. She’s been drinking mangosteen juice for 4 years. The juice has helped her in many ways, including sleep. She’s been a champion “worrier” for years and used to lay awake most of the night, worrying when there was nothing to worry about. We used to accuse her of making up stuff to worry about, if you know what I mean.
One of the mangosteen doctors said that because of the additional energy the juice gives to some people, that it might be difficult to get to sleep at bedtime. The solution could be to take your final juice drink earlier in the day, OR, try taking the last juice drink of the day immediately before bedtime because it helped some people go to sleep.
Saving the last drink until bedtime is what works for my mom. Now she gets to sleep right away. If she’s already in a “worrisome” state of mind at bedtime, I get her to smile about something and then give her extra ounces of juice. She has a more restful sleep, and I do too.

I take mine right before bedtime with some nuts, usually almonds. It helps me sleep.
